Оригинальная аннотация

Cacao damage, caused by timber shade tree harvest (Cordia alliodora), was evaluated in indigenous farms in Talamanca, Costa Rica. Damage was classified by severity levels and then translated into yield losses and their corresponding financial values. Harvesting of 49 trees affected 196 cacao plants out of which 4 percent had to be replaced and 38 percent coppicied. This study showed that cacao damage due to timber tree felling should not be major limitation to farmers using timber shade trees in cacao farms.
