Efecto del cicocel sobre plántulas de cacao (Theobroma cacao L.)

The effect of cycocel (2-chloroethyl trimethyl ammonium chloride) on cocoa seedlings subjected to water deficiency was studied. The reagent maintained leaf turgor. In seedlings under drought conditions proline accumulation was lower than in the control while nitrate reductase activity was higher. The effect of cycocel on cocoa seedlings under drought conditions and recovery period is discussed.
