Оригинальная аннотация

The objective was to carry out a chemical characterization and in situ degradability of organic waste as a food alternative for cattle. The dry matter of banana, cocoa and sugar cane residues generated by producing farms within the La Troncal canton - Ecuador was evaluated. It was determined by proximal analysis: crude protein, ash, ethereal extract, crude fiber and nitrogen-free extract; Fiber analysis: neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber and acid detergent lignin; Gross energy analysis; and in situ degradability with its degradation kinetics, for which the samples were incubated within the rumen of fistulated bovines for 0, 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. The values of the proximal analysis are an important option on the residues evaluated as alternative feed for bovines thanks to the content of nutrients present and of gross energy, however, the content of fibers and lignin could limit their consumption, the degradability in situ of their materials. dry are considerably acceptable in bovine diets, observing their maximum ruminal degradation over time at 96 hours. In conclusion, the organic residues of banana, cocoa and sugar cane are a good food alternative in cattle. This use links a sustainable management on the final disposal of said waste on the environment, reducing at the same time the cost of food production for this type of ruminant livestock.
