The following research was carried out at the Laboratory of Ground, Water and Plants at the Technical Faculty for the development of Santiago de Guayaquil Catholic University where an ecological alternative for the management of Moniliophthora roreri, disease that causes up to 80% of cocoa plantation production to be lost, to be found. The collection of coca pods (of Fine aroma) infected with the disease for the isolation of the fungus and then the reproduction of the pure strain in-vitro was necessary. The experiment was carried out in three phases: the isolation of the fungi, fungi reproduction and assembly of the experiment. The experimental design used was a design chosen at random. Seven treatments were evaluated from which two were controlled treatments while the others were treated with different doses of ozone. To determine the optimal concentration, four measurements were recorded every two days to evaluate the growth of the fungi mycelium, and by using the Duncan T significance test for independent samples and Significance test T for paired samples, treatment seven, corresponding 5 parts per million, was considered the ideal concentration for the control of the Moniliophthora roreri. Moreover, it was evident that as the doses of ozone was increased the inhibition of the fungus increased; hence, the conduction of experiments with higher dosages is recommended.
